This last weekend Santa came to visit Caritas and this was
the second year that Peer Canvas had the privilege of photographing the smiling
kids as they visited with Santa.
Young
and old alike, everyone got the chance to visit with Santa and share a hot
chocolate with Mrs. Clause.
It was
really special to see how excited the children were as they came in from the
snowy outside to be greeted by Santa.
There were smiles and laughs a plenty. Caritas volunteer Ann Schroeder and others made an array of winter knit hats for the children to choose from. Thank you to our Santa - Bill Wilson and his lovely wife Mrs. Claus. Thanks to the local churches (St. Paul Lutheran, Sun Valley Presbyterian and Beloit New Life Center) that held toy drives and baked cookies. Thank you to Starbucks for donating coffee and hot chocolate. Thank you to Walgreens for printing the pictures. Thank you to the Xclusive Ryders Motorcycle Club for all the the help with the toy drive so that every child was able to go home with a special gift from Santa.
Many thanks to all involved to help make this event possible.
Biggest thanks to my mom Yolanda Peer (my mom--I'm not biased :) who puts in countless hours to help organize and work at these events. She was sure to hold every baby and every hand of the children as they went up to Santa.
If you were one of the families that came in for pictures,
they are ready to be picked up at the Walgreens downtown on Broad Street. Don’t forget to bring your ticket for your
complimentary picture.
